With Paper Wasps, all the wasps seem to look the same. Does the nest have a queen wasp, as bees and ants do?

Paper Wasps have a Foundress instead of a queen. She looks like the other wasps. A nest may be started by more than one Foundress, although as the first brood begins to hatch, the dominant Foundress often drives the others away. Those that are driven away may start their own nest, or they may take over another nest, becoming the dominant female.
