Snakes can bite underwater with no problem at all. Many snakes eat fish, which makes me wonder how this myth started. I came across the myth of snakes not being able to bite under water while looking at sites about the physics of bumblebee flight. Many were collections of strange "facts", which were mostly fiction, including this one.
