When you see Sand Dollars on the beach or in a gift shop, they are usually smooth. Why is this one fuzzy?
Answer:
This Sand Dollar is still alive, and the "fuzz" is actually hundreds of tiny tube feet that it uses for movement and collecting food. Starfish, sea urchins, and other Echinoderms have similar tube feet.
