What causes tides?

Answer:

Tides are caused by the gravitational pull of the Moon, the Sun, and the Earth itself all acting together. That causes the ocean to bulge upwards, causing high tides in some places and low tides in others. It also causes the atmosphere and the Earth itself to do the same thing. The tides in the Earth can cause the ground to rise 30 cm or more during high tides.
