how did your wife find the crystal? did she use a special device? or just by luck? we want to try to find a crystal in georgia but don't know where to start. we are actually living in new york and wan to try to find a crystal. any starter tips?
please answer all my questions..we are anxious to find one as big as that!

Finding the crystal was a
Finding the crystal was a combination of luck and hard work. We dug for 7 days, and found about 850 pounds of quartz crystals, but that was the biggest. I was lucky enough to be taping when she found it. Check with your local rock and mineral club. There are great sites in New York for finding quartz crystals.

That varies from one site to another, and also with the weather. In this site (Coleman Crystal Mine in Hot Springs, Arkansas), we found bigger crystals by digging, but found quite a few beautiful crystals on the surface.
