Building a Rain Gauge

Slow Connection High Speed Flash High Speed Quicktime

Keeping in mind that the ideal shape for a rain gauge is to have the top and bottom be the same size, with straight sides, look at each of these containers. Decide if it would make an accurate rain gauge, and if not, decide if it would seem to have too much rain, or too little rain in it.

Would this container make an accurate rain gauge? If not, why? Would it seem to have too much water or too little water?

Hi

How do I make crystals from, Jared (sorry for spelling)...

cool project

how can i make crystals (sorry for spelling) from,Jared

thats cool

cool very very cool!

i think

i think 1,5, and 6 would work cause they all have strait sides

i think

i think 1,5, and 6 would work cause they all have strait sides

what I think works best

I think 1,5,6, would be great because they all have top, bottom same size but 2,3,4,7, all will not work because top, bottom are not the same size(1 actually looks most like a rain gauge because if you look close you can see a measuremenline on the glass so I believe 1 would be the best rain guage

My Ideas

The first, fith, and sixth would make an accurate rain gauge, because they are the same width, top and bottom.
The second, third and fourth would not make an accurate rain gauge because the top is either smaller than the bottom or the other way around.

Joanna

my ideas

i agree with joanna!

i augge

i augge

the second and third one

the second and third one would not work obviously because the top or bottom is not the same size the flask would take in a small amount of rain and it has a large bottom so the measurement would be incorrect same with the glass the top is wide and the bottom is very small so it's just the opposite of the flask. :D

COOL!!!

Where do you get a chemistry bottle like that???

wow

wow, that is so cool i want to try it

Awesome!

I am going to go watch the next video. This is awesome!
