This is from a walk on the beach in St. Augustine. The Sargasso Weed is washing in, and it is always full of interesting things. How many kinds of animals do you see in this photo?

Answer:

There are two very different animals visible in the photo. See tonight's photo to see where they are. The large, leaf-shaped object in the center is a sargassum Nudibranch, a sea slug that is specially adapted for life in Sargassum seaweed. The small, feathery things on the seaweed are Hydroids, tiny creatures related to sea anemones and coral. They eat plankton, and the Nudibranch eats them. They are circled in the photo below.
