Contagious Yawns

This week's experiment is a chance for you to do some scientific research on a problem that has never been solved. We all yawn, and you have probably noticed that if someone else yawns, you do too. Why? There are several hypotheses, but none has enough solid evidence to become an accepted theory.

Cats

My yawns are contagious to my cat to a degree far beyond chance. I have been observing this for some time. Also, mock yawning does not seem as conducive for this, though it occasionally works.

YAWN!

Great! I yawned...! I'm setting my students to the task.
