I took this photo in Yellowstone National Park. Why do coyotes like badgers?
Coyotes and badgers sometimes work together when hunting ground squirrels, prairie dogs, and marmots. When the coyote chases them, some of them escape into their burrows. When the badger is trying to dig the creatures out of their burrows, they sometimes escape and run away, to be caught by the coyote.
While they cooperate in hunting, they don't share their catch. Whoever catches it, eats it. Still, working together, the team is successful about 33% more often than either working alone.

hi mr.krampf
i found out that badgers eat wasp nests, frogs and worms from my Beatrix Potter book, "Mr. Tod"
and did you know that we hear coyotes almost every night where we live?
& how did you get that picture with out it seeing you?

p.s. i like this picture!
RE: badgers and coyote
I was driving through Yellowstone National Park, and the coyote was walking near the road. With so many tourists, the animals don't pay much attention to people, so I could get quite close.
You are very lucky to hear the coyotes. I love their calls.
badgers and coyote
hi
i found out that coyote and badgers work together,
coyotes and badgers sometimes cooperate in finding food. a coyote sniffs out rodents and than leads a badger to the burrow. the badger digs the burrow open and the two share the prey

Badgers and coyotes
Yay! We found something! According to http://www.nhptv.org/natureworks/americanbadger.htm
coyotes like badgers because as the badgers burrow for their own food, coyotes will stand by and capture/eat small animals that try to escape the badger.
On another note, we were able to watch the Space Station fly through the night sky from our backyard deck. It appeared from 8:23-8:27 pm here. Cool.

RE: The Andrews
Great work on spotting the Space Station, and on doing your research for the right answer.
