Why is electricity important to this bee?
Marvelous! As they fly, Bumble Bees develop a positive electrostatic charge. When the land on a flower, they often buzz and vibrate the flower, which is called buzz pollination. This shakes pollen from the flower, and the static charge attracts it to the bee. Besides helping the bee collect pollen, this specialized way of gathering pollen lets Bumble Bees pollinate flowers from plants such as tomatoes, that can't be pollinated by other bees.

Bees
We think this bee needs static electricity to have pollen stick to it. The pollen helps more flowers grow which this bee needs for honey.
